Claiming that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is not a threat at all, former president Maithripala Sirisena yesterday extended an open invitation to all other political parties to form an alliance to form a government.
He told a news conference in Colombo that the SLPP had lost its mandate in the country and that they were striving to revive.
"SLPP is not a political party. Where are its office bearers? Where is its policies, vision and action plan?, he asked.
He said the health sector and the higher education sector are in disarray at present where medical specialists and university dons are leaving the country. "The government has failed to find a solution to stop the brain drain," he said.(Ajith Siriwardana)
