Colombo, jan. 31 (Daily Mirror)- The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will file a Fundamental Rights (FR) petition against Public Security Minister Tiran Alles who had ordered to fire tear gas and water cannons at the SJB protest, SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara said today.
He told a news conference that tear gas and water cannons were fired at the SJB protest unlawfully despite the court order.
The MP said the government was attempting to suppress public protests using the armed forces and said they urge public officials to act lawfully, adding that they will have to face legal action if they acted ulawfully.
"We tell Ranil and Tiran that people can't be chased away just like they did during the Aragalaya," he said.

Well done, now we are seeing some concrete action by SJB. Tiran Alles should be in prison for all the dirty underhand work carried out for the Ranil rajapaksa criminal syndicate.

Great to see the SJB protecting the people of the country from the Ranil rajapaksa criminal thugs.

Your party violated a court order, therefore the police had every right to fire tear gas and water cannons. Furthermore, the violation of the court order may even amount to contempt of court against the party leadership who went on with the strike despite the court order.

Sajith and his idiots will never beat the Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa. So give up and go home.
Ranil the spineless Thursday, 01 February 2024 06:57 AM
This is what happens when we have a president who is terrified of the citizens. But are forced to obey orders from his rajapaksa masters.
New form of election propaganda? Thursday, 01 February 2024 07:28 AM
Will the protest march and the case against minister boost the fallen image of the leader and Secy of SJB? Cases should be filed against them for violating court order. They can't have two sets of law in this nation.

The autocrat Ranil and the convicted criminals Alles and Tennakoon have formed a junta of violence that tramples on democracy and human rights for selfish reasons. There must be a lot more protests. Every protest that is met with tear gas and water cannons by the police on the orders of the junta with the help of corrupt magistrates increases the justified aggression against Ranil's regime by the population.

Sajith's Jolly Boys violated the court order. Just the day before SJB MP stated they will not abide by or care about court orders but will get on the streets. This was basically timed to disrupt Independence Day celebrations rehearsals

Protest funded by Harak kata to create chevos and SJB is filing a case on behalf of Harak kata.
