SJB to proceed with protest despite court order

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) said it will go ahead with today's protest despite the stay order issued by the Fort Magistrate’s court.

"We have not been advised to call off the protest and we have not seen any stay order either. Therefore, we will go ahead with the protest," SJB General Secretary Ranjith Maduma Bandara told the Daily Mirror. (Yohan Perera)

Last two times the country upheld democracy and had elections we had a president we don't want and 145 parliamentarians whom we continued to accuse of been corrupt before and after the elections. Now once again we are so keen to have an election without any visibility of how clever the voters are now. Or whether old loyalties yet remain. Reduce the seats to Mahindra Deshapriya recommended number of 5000 approx and have the election in 5 months time.
