Colombo, April 30 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lankan rupee weakened further against the US dollar across several commercial banks today (30), compared to Wednesday, with the selling rate reaching as high as Rs. 323 at some institutions.
At Hatton National Bank (HNB), the buying rate of the US dollar increased from Rs. 315.50 to Rs. 316.10, while the selling rate rose from Rs. 322.90 to Rs. 323.60.
Meanwhile, Sampath Bank recorded a slight uptick in rates, with the buying rate moving from Rs. 315.75 to Rs. 316.20 and the selling rate climbing from Rs. 322.80 to Rs. 323.20.
At DFCC Bank, the buying rate stood at Rs. 316.00, while the selling rate was recorded at Rs. 322.90, both showing marginal increases from the previous day.
However, Nations Trust Bank reported no change in its exchange rates, maintaining the buying and selling rates at Rs. 314.50 and Rs. 322.70, respectively.
Overall, the rupee continued its downward trend amid minor fluctuations in exchange rates across banks.
