Rs. 4,000 advance cash payment to be given for state sector employees

An advance cash payment of a maximum of Rs. 4,000 will be given to all State sector employees between January 1 and February 28, 2023, the Public Administration Ministry said.

The Ministry said the payment will be recovered within the year 2023.

A circular has been issued by the Public Administration Ministry in this regard.

Will government print millions to give this Rs4000. As I understand, IMF never recommends to give more burden to the vulnerable people but to provide relief to carry on their basic life. Instead of taxing the top earners increasing indirect tax's will benefit the top earners as it spreads across every household. Watching YouTube clips I see how many are enjoying their leisure time in hi fi five star hotels sometimes weekends 2 to 3 nights stay. I feel the answer to these questions and the grave disparity is NPP government with the coalition of other opposites, SJB, independent factions of SLPP excluding Wimal, Vasu and Gammanpila

In today's context this is peanuts. But thats not the issue. From where will the required Rs. 24 billion come cos many government politicians are crying that moneys cannot be found to hold the LG elections. Or is this yet another election gundu to win over the state sector?
