Rear Admiral qualifies for three Guinness World Records

Colombo, March 23 (Daily Mirror) - Retired Rear Admiral Princely Liyanage has qualified for three Guinness World Records following an extraordinary endurance feat on a manual treadmill.

The attempt began on March 20 and concluded on the morning of March 22, with the veteran officer completing 48 hours of continuous running.

During the challenge, he first broke his own previous record of 94.30 km by covering 100.36 km within 12 hours. He then surpassed the existing 24-hour record of 188.13 km by reaching 190.55 km. By the end of the 48-hour period, he had completed a total distance of 316.7 km, securing his third world record qualification.

The effort was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Defence Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Navy, which provided necessary facilities.

In addition to the three records, Liyanage also set performances in fastest 100 km, 100 miles, and 300 km on a non-mechanical treadmill. These achievements are expected to be submitted for future consideration by Guinness World Records.
