Ranil conveys condolences to Kenyan President on passing of former Prime Minister
Former President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, on the passing of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.
In his message to President Ruto, former President Wickremesinghe wrote:
It is with sadness that I have learned of the passing of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of Kenya, and to the family and loved ones of the late Rt. Hon. Odinga.
Prime Minister Odinga will be remembered across Africa as a visionary leader, dedicated to the furthering of democracy, and championing social justice and good governance.
May his memory continue to inspire future generations to serve their nations with integrity and dedication.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
Former President Wickremesinghe noted that Raila Odinga’s leadership and lifelong commitment to democratic ideals left an enduring mark not only on Kenya but across the African continent. He extended his sympathies to the people of Kenya during this time of national mourning.
