The trade union action that was launched by the principals and teachers' Unions today by refraining from conducting online teaching practices has been a 100 per cent success, the Joint Teachers' Services Union said.
While issuing a statement, Ceylon Teachers' Union (CTU) President Priyantha Fernando said teachers of all main schools in the country, including in Colombo, North and Eastern, had stopped their online teaching activities.
If the government does not provide a favourable response, the trade union action will continue, the unions said.
All teachers refrained from conducting online teaching practices from this morning against the government’s move to direct CTU General Secretary Joseph Stalin and 15 others into forcible quarantine after being released on bail and until providing a solution for online teaching, the Teachers' Services Union added.
