Public sector salaries to be paid on time: Minister

State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya assured today that salaries of non-executive public sector employees would be paid on the 25th as usual without any delay.

He said salaries of executive-level public sector employees would also be paid on the same day or with a day's delay.

He said Rs. 79 billion out of the total Rs. 93 billion has already been allocated for the purpose. (Ajith Siriwardana)

We pay Rs.93 billion from our taxes to these under performing, non productive, over staffed individuals and also want to make sure they are paid on time. Not mentioned their share including the appointees. We do live in paradise.

All his statements are like writing on the water! They never carry any substance!! Recently he announced that Senior Citizens are exempted from the "unscrupulous" tax on interest/income of Senior Citizens. But the bank's are recovering same and what's more even recovering the WT from the savings which include already recovered interest payment! Old saying goes "bull gorging the man fallen from the tree" but this should be revised, in reference to the present severe hardships faced by the people as "man falling from the tree falls on the landmine (mercilessly and heartlessly placed by the Govt of the day!).
