Provide uninterrupted power supply for electricity consumers: President directs officials

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has directed Power and Energy Minister and relevant officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply for electricity customers, the President's Media Division said.

He has also directed the authorities to provide concessions for low-income families and provide solar rooftop systems for religious places and government educational institutions once the PUCSL tariff revision is implemented.

If PUCSL has given approval for electricity tariff increase then WHY President is giving another notice of instruction, every authorities in power wants to kill the the consumers and it is happening now. More sufferings are ahead. Rich can accomodate. Poor crushed to the wall. Middle class has to JUMP into the SEA

We have been trained to receive good and services at government subsidized rates for far too long. It has been a political gimmick that we silently enjoyed. The subsidy had to be funded and paid one way or another. Subsidies grow poor decision making and usage. The current policy is taking the country on the right track although it will be a painful transition.

We have to intensify self impose power cuts on ourself instead of power cuts impose by electricity board.what we experience now shift and we are facing worsening situation now than before. I am a retiree with a fixed income. However I think the country will be better off in the long run by charging us what t actually costs. The next generations may start to regain some hope if the economy of the country is put on the right track, and we may retain them on our shores. I am ok to endure the adjustment pain so long as I see light at the end of the tunnel. If we continue of this path there may be a bright light at its end. By the way I consider myself apolitical.

Where does the 20 billion comes for paddy purchases while the constitutionally allocated 10 billion is not available for elections.
