Professor Tissa Vitharana passes away at 91
Colombo, Feb. 13 (Daily Mirror) - Veteran politician and former Minister Tissa Vitharana has passed away at the age of 91, family members confirmed.
He reportedly died this morning at his residence in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte following a prolonged illness.
Professor Vitharana enjoyed a long and distinguished career in public service, during which he served the nation in several key capacities. He was a Member of Parliament and held Cabinet portfolios, contributing significantly to national policy and governance. He also served as a Provincial Governor, continuing his commitment to public administration and development.
