Probe on arrested Uni students handed over to CID

Investigations into the three university students including Inter University Student Federation (IUSF) convenor Wasantha Mudalige who were arrested during a protest was handed over to the CID.

The Police spokesman said the police chief had instructed the CID to investigate whether these suspects had been involved in any conspiracy against the state and engaged in any terrorist activities during the past.

He said the Police Chief has also directed the CID to hand over the investigations to the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) if they were found to have engaged in any terrorist activities.

Whatever the investigation, no one shouldn’t apply PTA for any students protest. I think the authorities have not learned anything from the protest recently. What were the findings from CIDs on the Easter attack and why these findings taken so long to publish or this is a waste of resource?

CID should investigate their officials and the SLPP politicians who masterminded the Easter Bombings, investigate Mahinda Rajapaksa and Johnny for organizing terrorist attack on Galleface protestors, all corruption charges against all politicians. Wasantha Mudalige is an innocent individual who raised his voice against corruption.

Instead of being an independent body, the CID has clearly become a vicious political tool of the present government. Their definition of terrorists on unarmed protesters is laughable and reason to see a different game plan of RW and the pohottuwas. What about the sugar, garlic, fuel, electricity scams that robbed the nation of billions? What action will they face? What about these non-tender quick procurement deals that are fattening pockets of corrupt officials? Unless this corrupt system is stopped, we are doomed.
