Prioritize vaccinating Buddhist clergy: Ven. Dhammananda Thera
Chief Lekakadikari of the Asgiri Chapter, Ven. Dr. Medagama Dhammananda Thera today requested to provide COVID vaccine under special priority for Buddhist monks as they regularly engage in social and religious matters.
Addressing the media at the Asgiriya Temple today Ven. Thera requested the Ministry of Buddha Sasana to intervene and implement the vaccine roll out immediately.
Ven. Dhammananda Thera also claimed that many Buddhist monks have contracted the virus by now.
Therefore, he requested the authorities to prioritize the vaccination considering the suitable age limits to protect the clergy and the Buddha Sasana. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
