Prez to make interim-budget speech on August 30

President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Minister of Finance will present the Appropriation (Amendment) Bill on August 30, Communications Department of Parliament said.

Accordingly, the President will make the interim-budget speech from 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm on August 30.

The budget debate will be held from 9.30 am to 5.30pm on August 31 and September 1 and 2.

The adjournment debate on the increase in electricity tarrifs will be held on August 29.
