President appoints Maritime and Supply advisor



Colombo, January 8 (Daily Mirror) - Dr. Mahinda Parakrama Disanayake has been appointed as Presidential Advisor on Maritime, Ports, and Supply Affairs, with immediate effect, the President’s Office said.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake made the appointment in accordance with Article 41(1) of the Constitution of Sri Lanka. The letter of appointment was handed over to Dr. Disanayake by Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumaranayake at the Presidential Secretariat today (08 January 2026).

Dr. Disanayake brings extensive experience in both local and international maritime and supply affairs. He has worked with several international organizations, including the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and has built a strong reputation in the fields of maritime policy, port management, and supply chain governance.
