Colombo, Oct. 21 (Daily Mirror) - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has issued a Gazette notification amending the scopes, functions, departments, statutory bodies, and state corporations of several ministries following the recent cabinet reshuffle.
Under the changes, the Department of Civil Security, previously under the Ministry of Defense, and the Rehabilitation Bureau, previously under the Ministry of Justice and National Integration, have been transferred to the Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs.
The Sri Lanka Thriposha Corporation Limited, formerly under the Ministry of Health, has been moved to the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, while Salacine Media Solutions Private Limited, previously under the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, is now under the Ministry of Health and Mass Media.
In addition, the Geology, Survey and Mines Bureau, which was under the Ministry of Environment, has been placed under the Ministry of Industrial Entrepreneurship Development, and the Cinnamon Development Department, formerly under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation, has been transferred to the Ministry of Plantations and Community Infrastructure.
The Ceylon Electricity Company, under the Ministry of Energy, has been reorganized as Ceylon Electricity Private Company Limited, with four new institutions introduced under the Electricity Board’s restructuring also published in the Gazette.
