Polonnaruwa–Batticaloa Road closed: Police urge public to use trains

Colombo, Nov. 27 (Daily Mirror) - Due to adverse weather conditions, the Manampitiya–Gallella section of the Polonnaruwa–Batticaloa main road has been flooded, resulting in a complete closure of vehicular traffic from today (27 November 2025) until further notice.

Police said persistent rainfall has made the area unsafe for travel and urged motorists to avoid the stretch. 

The public has been advised to use train services as an alternative during the road closure.
