Police to destroy over 300kg of seized narcotics today

Colombo, April 27 (Daily Mirror) - The Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) is set to destroy nearly 302 kilograms of various illicit drugs today, April 27, following the conclusion of relevant court proceedings. The narcotics were seized during multiple raids and were held as evidence until the legal cases transitioned through the Balapitiya and Chilaw courts.

The consignment scheduled for destruction includes a significant cache of substances: approximately22.88 kg of heroin, 33.17 kg of Kerala cannabis, and a staggering 247.94 kg of local cannabis. 

Earlier this morning, the PNB commenced the transport of the seized stocks from the Balapitiya Magistrate's Court complex. The drugs are being moved to the Lactovatta incinerator in Wanathavilluwa, Puttalam.
