People’s Bank, several State institutions get new heads

The Committee on High Posts has approved the appointments of two ministry secretaries and six chairpersons of state institutions, the Communications Department of Parliament said.

Accordingly, the Committee has approved the appointment of Yamuna Perera as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment and R.M.W.S. Samaradivakara as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development.

The Committee on High Posts also approved the appointment of Sujeewa Rajapaksa as the Chairman of the People's Bank.

Meanwhile. the appointments of Prof. S.R.D. Rosa as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board, Ratnasiri Kalupahana as the Chairman of the State Engineering Corporation of Sri Lanka, Eng. A. Galketiya as the Chairman of the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB), Stella Marapana as the Chairperson of the Public Performance Board and Jayantha Wijeratne as the Chairman of the National Aquaculture Development Authority have been approved by the Committee on High Posts.

Will they do anything to turnaround these institutions and stand up against political masters?. You only have to watch COPE committee hearings to see how incompetent, corrupt, unskilled, lethargic, overstaffed and unproductive these people are. A total waste of public money.

Please also disclose their credentials and the last 2 schools they attended. I am afraid that one particular school old boys and their wives are getting preferential treatment in the selection process.
