The people of the country did not expect such a report from the presidential commission appointed to probe the Easter Sunday attack, Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said.
The Minister is seen as a close confidante of former President and Polonnaruwa district MP Maithripala Sirisena.
The commission, in its report, recommended legal action against Mr. Sirisena for neglect of duty.
The Minister expressed these views at a media conference at the Environment Ministry when journalists inquired regarding the allegations made against Mr. Sirisena .“I am not commenting on the Commission or the judiciary. But we as the Sri Lanka Freedom Party are deploying a team of our lawyers to conduct a full study in this regard. We will discuss this extensively at the party tomorrow. Following the discussion, the SLFP will issue a media statement expressing the party's views. The other thing is that this report is not at all what the public expected. We have a number of issues about this”.

This is a good example to say that the minister is out of touch with people and their wishes!

How come all these jokers are making statements without seeing the full 5 volumes of the report. Even AG has got only the final report, not the other 4.

Show cause why the the former first citizen should not be held accountable. Responsibility comes with accountability.

Why do you complain. This commission and the judges in it was set up by your own president. You cannot run away from responsibility.
