Parents of Pastor Jerome Fernando, who recently caused controversy by allegedly insulting Buddhism, have issued an apology on behalf of their son.

The parents of Pastor Jerome, who identifies himself as a prophet, met Venerable Omalpe Sobitha Thera and Venerable Hadigalle Wimalasara Thera, where they conveyed their apologies for insulting Buddhism.

They expressed gratitude to the monks for providing an opportunity to discuss the matter and informed them that Pastor Jerome has not fully comprehend the teachings of Buddhism.

Venerable Sobitha Thera acknowledged that forgiveness could be extended to Pastor Jerome in accordance with Buddhist principles.
