Over five million vehicles registered with QR system by now: Eranga Weeraratne

Colombo, March 17 (Daily Mirror) - Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weeraratne revealed today that 5,103,991 vehicles have been registered with the Fuel QR Code System so far.

He told Parliament that 439,997 new vehicles which had not been registered with the QR system previously had been registered by 9.00 am this morning.

The Deputy Minister said the QR system is being used by 5,094,566 people so far and added that there is an increase in those accessing the system.

He said 95 per cent of defects in the QR system have been resolved by now.

Do you have additional lanes to accommodate the a 5 million vehicles ? Have you done a traffic study on the already congested roads ? It has to do with commonsense than tax revenue.

Why additional lanes? Commonsense says that the same number of vehicles used these fuel stations and roads all this time. All 5m vehicles do not come at once but spread over days and a large number of fuel stations. What has road congestion to do with QR and fuel quota.

Ninety percent of the said figure registered when it was implemented for the first time and there was no any digital issue then. Bakapundits have failed to restart the same old system which needs no structural change at all, other than altering the quotas in the System.

There are existing problems in the QR code although the government says it has sorted 95 per cent. How can anyone having two or more vehicles which are owned by him and then produce different IDs when he is the rightful person having only one ID. The government has given a hotline number 1919 which is not working. Please sort this problem without telling lies, bloody lies and damn bloody lies !!!!!!
