Colombo, Oct. 31 (Daily Mirror) - More than 2,000 breast cancer screenings were carried out today at Nawaloka Hospital in collaboration with the Rajaputhra Foundation.
Founder Sajeev Rajaputhra said the programme was organised following public requests to expand the initiative to rural areas. He noted that the foundation plans to continue similar health programmes in underserved regions in the future.
Rajaputhra said the screenings aim to encourage early detection of breast cancer and increase public awareness about the disease.
Following a previous programme held in Kandy, nearly 100 individuals had registered for screening, he added.
