One killed, three injured in a clash

One person was hacked to death and another three were severely injured when they were assaulted by a group of people at a party held on the banks of the Chandrika Wewa in Embilipitiya last night.

Police said the victims were assaulted with sharp weapons and the injured were rushed to the Embilipitiya Hospital.

A 27-year-old Sudarshana Maduranga, a resident of Pallebedda succumbed to injuries on being admitted to the Hospital.

Police said an argument that arose during the party might have turned into the clash. No one had been arrested in connection with the assault.
