Relatives have offered a prize of Rs.2 million to anyone providing reliable information on the individual who removed the body of two-year-old girl from Bharathipuram public cemetery and whereabouts of the body.
The two-year-old girl L.Divya had drowned in a tank of water near a relative’s house on August 27 and her body was buried in the Bharathipuram public cemetery the following day. However, the grave had been dug up and the body removed leaving the coffin at the scene on September 05.
Her relatives had complained to Nelumkulama and Vavuniya police in this regard, but the police had not received any information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
Her Grand Mother Gunaratnam Rohini, told the media yesterday in Vavuniya that the relatives had not yet received any information regarding the disappearance of the body much to their anxiety. She offered a prize of Rs.2 million to anyone providing information leading to the recovery of the body. (Romesh Madusanka)
