Colombo, Dec. 4 (Daily Mirror) - The Government should seek the assistance of former heads of state to rebuild Sri Lanka following the recent disaster which has caused unimaginable damage, the United National Party (UNP) said.
Former MP Dr. Tusitha Wijemanne and former Member of the Central Provincial Council who made this remark at a media briefing today said the government should seek the assistance of former Presidents as they have experience in handling disaster situations which hit the country in the past.
“Whole villages in Gampola, Nawalapitiya and Harispathuwa in the Kandy district have been destroyed and have been turned into flat land. It will be a herculean task to rebuild these villages,” Ms. Kongahage said.
