No unannounced power cuts: Minister refutes allegations

Colombo, April 7 (Daily Mirror) - Whilst dismissing the allegations of unannounced power cuts, Minister of Power and Energy Kumara Jayakody told Parliament today that announcements will be made if scheduled power cuts are implemented.

He said there are breakdowns in some areas but power is restored as soon as possible.

MP Mujibur Rahman said the government is implementing unannounced power cuts across the country, including the vicinity of the Opposition Leader's office.

"Power was interrupted for nearly two hours yesterday," he charged.

This useless minister can't handle anything. Indeed there was a power interruption in Kadawatha for 2 hours without information. He too lives in Kadawatha area.
