No-faith motion on Keheliya handed over to Speaker

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) sponsored a no-confidence motion on Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella was handed over to Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene today.

SJB MPs Kavinda Jayawardene and Ranjith Madduma Bandara handed over the motion to the Speaker this afternoon.

“Around 50 MPs have signed the motion,” Dr. Jayawardene told the Daily Mirror.

The motion says Mr. Rambukwella is responsible for the crisis in hospitals and the procurement of substandard medicines as the subject minister.

The No Confidence motion will have to be given priority as per Standing Orders in Parliament. Therefore it has to be included in the order book after it is accepted by the Speaker.

Meanwhile, Minister Rambukwella told the House that he is even ready for a three-day debate on the motion.

It is prudent Kehilliya to resign his portfolio.He is in a midst of a strom, attacked by the medical profession, public and patients alike, government has earned the warth of the people due to failures of health sector, before the country faces mayhem, better to quit.

There is no way Kehiliya to step down. This 3rd class politionsins will not resign unless the president removes him. Potuwa fellows will not support the motion.They will have him until his term is over.

SJB hadn't much Studies or Research to be made in presenting the NC Motion as everyone knows that the rogues are in a majority in Parliament and they will not betray another rogue in trouble. Hence it is only a waste of time.
