The Education Ministry made a decision not to enroll students in intermediate classes up to the Ordinary Level (O/L) in all schools which enroll children based on scholarship examination marks, the Minister of Education said.
He stated that the decision would be a significant and positive step towards the country's educational pattern.
Further, the Minister pointed out that serious injustice is caused to students who get higher marks are denied their eligibility by not having such a system.
The minister added that some parents enroll their children in grade 7 and 8 which causes injustices to the children who have joined the schools based on their scholarship achievements. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
