No child should be left behind in education, Says Prime Minister



Colombo, Jan. 28 (Daily Mirror) - Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, also serving as Minister of Education, emphasized that the government believes no child’s education should be determined by their parents’ financial situation and that every child has the right to education.

In a congratulatory message to children entering Grade 1 under the new education reforms, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to creating measures that ensure equal educational opportunities for all. She stressed the importance of community input, saying that the ideas and suggestions of everyone are crucial to achieving this goal.

Dr. Amarasuriya expressed her wish for the first day of school to become a beautiful memory for children, adding that the government is making significant efforts to improve school facilities and the learning-teaching process to ensure that the school year is productive, happy, and meaningful for all students.
