Colombo, November 14 (Daily Mrrior) - Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa today accused the government of engaging in severe repression against state sector employees and called on the public to remain patient during what he described as a challenging period.
Speaking to the media after paying homage at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, Rajapaksa claimed that the Sri Lanka Police has become “completely politicised,” raising concerns over what he said was a worsening national security situation in the country.
He also noted that the public is facing significant hardship due to the heavy tax burden imposed by the government.
Rajapaksa said the SLPP is prepared to stand up for the people, urging all those who feel they have been subjected to injustice to participate in the party’s rally scheduled to be held in Nugegoda on November 21.
