NTC takes action against bus crew for endangering passengers in floods

Colombo, Dec. 5 (Daily Mirror) - The National Transport Commission (NTC) has disciplined the Monaragala-Colombo bus owner, driver, and conductor for putting passengers at risk while traveling through flooded areas in Kumbukkana.

The bus owner and crew were summoned before the NTC last Wednesday. Following an investigation, the bus’s road permit was suspended for two weeks.

In addition, the driver and conductor have been suspended from service for one month due to their misconduct.

Suspended for 2 weeks for such wrecklessnes is a joke. The permit should be cancelled for good and the perpetrators fined and/or jailed.

Just curious as to how they justified their actions in their defense. I suppose they had good intentions of getting people to their destinations without being stranded somewhere. Perhaps more training on how to handle emergencies would help.

Well, if you see the way those people talk and behave. They seems to know everything better than everyone else. Good like teaching them. There is a attitude problem as well.

Suspend it forever. What's up with 2 weeks? We don't want this guy on the roads. I cannot believe how they ignore the buses. Something is up?
