Ministry warns of fake WhatsApp group misusing education reform title

Colombo, October 25. (Daily Mirror) - The Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Ministry has alerted the public to a fraudulent WhatsApp group operating under the name “Education Council to be formed through the New Education Reforms.”

In a statement, the Ministry said that the group claims to be uniting teachers across education zones, but it is not affiliated with or approved by the Ministry in any capacity. The authorities emphasized that they hold no responsibility for any communications or activities carried out through the platform.

The Ministry further urged educators and the public to remain vigilant and avoid being misled by groups attempting to undermine the government’s New Education Reforms initiative.
