Mawanella PS Chairman arrested for accepting bribe

Chairman of the Mawanella Pradeshiya Sabha Samantha Steevan was arrested by the Bribery Commission officers today while accepting a bribe of Rs. 2 million.

He was caught red handed by the bribery commission officers at a hotel in Mawanella town as he was taking the bribe to get a plan of a proposed building approved by the Pradeshiya sabha.

I sympathise with all Sri Lankans for their near bankrupt state. The politicians are all corrupt since 1948 and we need a new educated young politicians to drive the country forward. This was claimed too by a speaker in Kirsty Wark's BBC2 New Night programme too on 12 Jan 2023.

The LG elections wanting people must know that currently there's plan to elect double the number of corrupt persons as deemed necessary. 8000 plus rather than half. Even the double or triple sized defense number is to be cut, but not the LG numbers if SJB have their way. Utter corruption worse than bribe taking by the SJB to want such money losing activity to happen.

The number of members in Parliament nd local Govt. has increased tremendously. What is the reason? Is it because the mental capacity of these members has decreased so much, now you need two or three persons to think for one person in the past? Rapid deterioration of mental power!
