Man killed during shootout with police
A 49-year old person wanted over several shooting incidents in Kandana was shot dead during a crossfire when police tried to arrest him at Sapugaskanda last night.
Police said the officers of the Kandana Police raided a house to arrest a suspect who was wanted in connection with a shooting incident at Polpithimukalana in Kandana on October 5.
During the raid the suspect fired a shot at police and the suspect was killed during return fire by the police.
The body of the suspect, a resident of Angoda is at the Kiribathgoda Hospital mortuary.
The Sapugaskanda Police are conducting further investigations under the supervision of the Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Kelaniya Division.(DSB)
