Man jumps before train with daughter after discovering wife’s illicit affair

A 38-year-old man jumped before a moving train with his 6-year-old daughter after discovering that his wife was having an affair with another man.

The incident took place last night at the Raja Ela area, where the man jumped before the Colombo-bound train from Trincomalee.

Police said the Kantale Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.

Preliminary findings have revealed that the deceased man's wife had returned recently after working overseas and is alleged to have been involved in an illicit relationship with another man.

The victims have been identified as residents of Kantale.

Because of poverty and no opportunities to eke out a living the women go as housemaids to ME countries and face all sorts of hazards there to send remittances to their families for their existence. This situation of broken homes are now on the increase as a result. It is high time for the government to put a stop to this as the corrupt government in power is fully responsible for the way they dragged down this country to this dastardly economic level by their actions of enriching themselves and not making any effort to cater to the needs of the citizens. Also the majority of the voters too should take the blame for electing such people as legislators.

Nearly 99.99% housemaids working in middle eastern countries have affair mostly with Indians, Pakistanis, Bengalis and less with Sri Lankan males there. They are cheapest there than filipinos and nepali girls and easy to maintain.
