Lebanon president thanks Trump for efforts to achieve ceasefire

Al Jazeera - Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun has thanked the US president for his efforts to “secure lasting peace and stability”, his office said on X after a phone call between the two leaders.

“He wished for the continuation of these efforts to stop the fire at the earliest possible time,” the statement said.

“Trump responded with his support for President Aoun and Lebanon, and his emphasis on his commitment to meeting the Lebanese request for a ceasefire at the earliest possible time.”
