Sri Lanka’s disappointing returns at the Asian Games continued with the Mixed 4x400m relay team being disqualified for a lane infringement after initially bagging a Silver medal.
Sri Lanka's team, comprising Anura Darshana, Nadeesha Ramanayake, Kalinga Kuamrage and Tharushi Dissanayake clocked a time of 3 minutes 14.25 seconds but were subsequently disqualified after it emerged that Darshana, running the first lap in lane three, had crossed into lane two when exchanging the baton.
Bahrain took gold with a time of 3 minutes 14.02 seconds, while Kazakhstan, who finished fourth with a season's best time of 3 minutes 24.85 seconds were upgraded to Bronze.

Losing the medal doesn't matter. We all know they deserved to be second.

We belong to the also ran and took part category in all sports. Watch out for cricket World cup as the Netherlands are capable of beating us. Meaning for the next cricket World Cup 50 over tournament we would have to go thru qualifying process again. This relay team has been together for some time now so no excuse. This is the Mircle and Wonder of Asia. I wonder if in Athletics there is fixing like in cricket.

Cheaters. They should be barred from representing any international running competition for 5 years

Just like with SL drivers, who cannot keep to the lane and don't realize it really costs..!

Lane discipline is a problem for Sri Lankans.

Making scathing remarks to our athletes due to an error in crossing another lane is not a done thing. This could happen to any athlete who is under tremendous pressure to score a Medal for Sri Lanka. As Sri Lankans we applaud when victory comes but in defeat brickbats which results in disillusionment and demotivation to the athlete.!!!!

This is very unfortunate in the big rush to pass the baton. There is no need for harsh words.

They must have been three wheel or public bus drivers drivers in Sri Lanka.

Srilankans are bricks in jumping lanes and queues! Indiscipline is inherent- no changing that!
