Because there is no need for Members of Parliament to have any qualifications whatsoever. Even with 3rd standard in any school you can be a MP.

I can confirm that he is a well qualified doctor with postgraduate qualifications. He worked as the medical director in Trincomalee Hospital up until February 2024.

Looks like the end of the PhD trip. Let's just get people who are efficient in doing the job rather than boasting of paper credentials. The country prospered under kings, even JR and Premadasa, not due to doctoral degrees.
