Jaffna Kings team owner arrested over alleged match-fixing



Colombo, July 17 (Daily Mirror) - A team owner of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) franchise Jaffna Kings has been arrested by the Sri Lanka Police Special Investigation Unit for the Prevention of Offences Relating to Sports over alleged match-fixing offences.

The suspect, identified as one of the owners of the Jaffna Kings franchise, was taken into custody as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged sports-related corruption.

Police said the arrest was made under the provisions of the Prevention of Offences Relating to Sports Act. Further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged offences.
