India's External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, arrived in Sri Lanka on the evening of the 10th to participate in the 23rd Council of Ministers’ meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), which Sri Lanka is hosting from Wednesday, the 11th.
Upon his arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake, Dr. Jaishankar received a warm welcome from Sri Lanka’s State Minister for Higher Education, Dr. Suren Raghavan, and the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Gopal Baglay.
Expressing his gratitude, Jaishankar shared his sentiments on social media, saying, "Glad to be back in Colombo. Thank Dr. Suren Raghavan, State Minister for Higher Education, for welcoming me."

Another chunk of our country open for sale to the Indians. Gradually turning into an Indian state, thanks to our short sighted politicians. Sad indictment of affairs.

They come for some occasion but with a reason.

@wsw- don’t panic. Sri Lanka has to look far and wide. Sri Lankans are like frogs in a well, especially the yellow robes. I don’t think they have even seen a world map! One race religion, culture, ethnicity, land history cannot suppress another. See what happens in the world today. Thus Sri Lanka has to have two states in one country. You delay it , India will take over Sri Lanka. Do you need it. ?

@Common sense Historian- I am not panicking, just despaired about our power hungry corrupt politicians exposing us to Indians and their universally despised identity. It seems obvious the "two states in one country" advocates are hell bent on promoting Indian hegemony with their continuous posturing towards our northern neighbours. As for the "One race religion, culture, ethnicity, land history cannot suppress another" comment, take a peek into India's political and social culture. Hypocrites are blind to their own actions. As for India taking over Sri Lanka, some quarters even in Sri lanka, might start panicking when we extend ourselves once more towards the mighty Chinese to keep those pesky Indians at bay. That will contain the bullies into submission.

It's not India's thinking to take over Sri Lanka. If they wanted they could have taken over other small neighboring countries as well. Lets be politically correct. India is not China.
