Indian Air Force arranges special jet transport for General Silva in Delhi



Colombo, Dec 13 (Daily Mirror) - The circulating image on social media, featuring Chief of Defence Staff General Shavendra Silva and his spouse  aboard a special jet, has been clarified. 

It has been revealed that General Silva was facilitated by the Indian Air Force for his travel from Delhi to Dehradun in India. This travel was in connection with his attendance as the Chief Guest at the Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA).

General Silva was granted the uncommon privilege of being invited as the Chief Guest to the event during his official visit to Delhi. 

Sources said that upon his arrival in Delhi, he had the privilege to travel to Dehradun on board a jet.

The Indian Air Force, in accordance with standard protocol for VIPs, facilitated General Silva with a jet for his travel to participate in the Passing Out Parade.

The Indian Military Academy is renowned for producing a substantial number of capable and patriotic officers for the Indian Army. Upon his arrival on December 9, 2023, General Silva received a warm welcome from Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar AVSM, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Western Command, along with the Commandant of IMA, Lieutenant General Vijay Kumar Mishra AVSM.
