Inclement weather claims 607 deaths, over two million affected

Colombo, Dec. 5 (Daily Mirror) - A total of 607 persons have died while 214 remain missing due to the severe weather, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said. 

According to the DMC, the ongoing adverse conditions, which began on 16 November, have so far impacted 2,082,195 individuals from 586,464 families across the country.

Furthermore, the DMC stated that 4,164 houses have been completely destroyed, while 67,505 others have suffered partial damages.
