Hospital admissions up by 25% during last nine months

The overall admissions to leading government hospitals have gone up by 25% during the last nine months, said Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

This was revealed by the Minister during a news briefing held yesterday (02) in Colombo.

“In addition, the number of patients seeking treatment at Outpatient Department (OPD) has also increased by 42% during the last nine months,” he said.

“The rise can be attributed to a decrease in patients' interest in seeking treatment at private hospitals,” he added. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

This attributes to the economic crisis. Not lack of interest. People don't have money to go to the private sector. These politicians don't have this little common sense..

There could be a drop in the admissions to private hospitals as people finds it difficult to make ends meet. Further to see Consultants at a channel is costly and seeing a doctor at the OPD and seeking admission is cheaper

It's the majority who are poor are on the worse effected due to poor quality food consumption people are suffering to have a meal a day other you can't keep eating just rice or bread with few grams of vegetables poor can't by fish meats fruits even locally produce vegetables or fruits the prices are so expensive the middle-class and poor simply can't afford sadly it will creat long term effect in various sickness.....
