High posts committee to examine A.S.P Liyanage’s nomination

The high posts committee in Parliament has decided to examine the nomination of businessman A. S. P. Liyanage as the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Qatar, the committee notified today.

The committee will also examine the nominations of Mahinda Madihehewa as the Chairman of Employee Trust Fund (ETF), Indrani Sugathadasa as the Chairperson of Insurance Board and the nomination of Y. L. S. Hameed as Chairman of Lanka Leyland.

Representations on the nominations will be entertained till February 1. (Yohan Perera)

Good move. If they are not suitable and are just political appointees, cancel them. Only the qualified and suitable persons should be appointed. Something positive from this government. Not seen during the previous regime.

Please don't fool the masses and waste time and public funds, what ever the outcome the fate will be the same as 'Bond Scam'. Our famous Committee Man will set up another committee to find a way out - and that will be the end of the issue!

A. S. P. Liyanage is very close to MR. So think well before appointing him. Somewhere he will make corruptions later on as other ambassadors did

ASP Liayanage has a very suspicious record. He should not be considered. We must appoint people with integrity,honesty and education to represent Sri Lanka.
