Heroin, Ice valued at more than Rs. 150 million seized

Colombo, January 1 (Daily Mirror) - A consignment of intoxicants including heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine (ICE) was seized and three suspects arrested by the Colombo Division Crimes Investigation Unit during a raid in Slave Island the area. 

Under interrogation, the suspects revealed that the street value of the consignment was more than Rs.150 milion.

It included 01.98 kilos of heroin, 04.411 kilos of methamphetamine (ICE) and 01.58 kilos of cocain. 

Police said a suspect who had in his possession 120.80 grams of methamphetamine (ICE) was arrested first and tge others on information provided by him. Investigations revealed that they had been carrying on the contraband trade of drug trafficking for a long time.

The suspects were arrested from the Wellawatta and Kadawatha areas. They are to be produced before court today.

A police team under OIC Colombo Division Crime Investigations Unit 01, IP Attanayaka carried out the raid on the instructions of SSP Buddhika Gunasekara.
