Colombo, Nov 8. (Daily Mirror) - Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dr.Harsha de Silva, who opened the budget debate, said that he supports the government's anti-corruption drive, but it should not be driven with political interests.

He referred to the sugar import scam, the controversial release of 323 containers, and the e-visa fraud and asked about action against them.

He also said he recognised macroeconomic stability achieved , but President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and government could not stake a claim for it.

He said those who strived for it before should be acknowledged at this time.

Harsha, The container issue is being raised all the time and the government has replied. The reply is not acceptable to me too. So why not use the CA or SC jurisdictions and see that a credible investigation is held and reported to court. The cause might be even suitable for a FR to the SC. So without talking all the time take the issue to court

Harsha is probably thinking of crossing to NPP with these talks, how come anti corruption is ok when 323 containers were released without inspection, Ministers are engaged in corrupt activities, party members are engaged in drug business, MPs are slowly making money doing some useless projects. Some crooks luke Jagath Manuwarana are defying the law by not respecting court orders too. Judges who rule against the NPP are being sacked or transferred. Corruption situation appears to be controlled because those who spread corruption stories are now in the government.
