Compensation is some relief however money cannot buy a life or life has not monetary value. WE need action from Transport authority and the government to actions mitigating the risks. Until such time very long distance bus services should be suspended to save lives. Fatigue management is essential

By all means the victims receiving posthumous aid is good. It also looks that the amount offered is higher than in the past. However, the government's responsibility is to check the roadworthiness of the vehicles and suitability of the drivers and road conditions. Mere handouts from the tax payers' money to win the disappointing hearts of the people is not the way to go.

Driver of the bus died too. Is the driver's family going to get Rs 1 million too. So taxpayers are paying for the erratic drivers.

Compensations and investigations are only reactive measures. Are we going to let continue these to happen counting on compensation? I am not against compensation to the victims, but it is not the answer. Here are few measures for the Govt to consider. 1) Apply strict fines for speeding and traffic violations 2) introduce measures to make sure road worthiness of vehicles. 3) Do the drivers get enough rest between shifts? Are they fit for long distance driving.4) Address those dangerous sections of the roads with engineering safety measures. There may be other measures as well. In my view, the first two would reduce the road accidents significantly if implemented effectively.

Value of life 1 million because they are poor. What would have been the value if it happened to AKD or any other compass politician.
