Colombo, Nov. 11 (Daily Mirror) - Recognizing the importance of promoting sports and improving infrastructure in the Northern Province, which continues to recover from decades of conflict, the government has approved the construction of a new indoor sports stadium in the region.

The proposed facility aims to support the development of indoor sports such as table tennis, tennis, badminton, netball, and chess among school athletes and sports clubs.

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports to construct the indoor stadium with the necessary facilities at an estimated cost of Rs. 170 million.

The project is expected to play a key role in encouraging youth participation in sports, strengthening regional sports development, and fostering social integration through athletic activities.

Is this really necessary at a time where the country is struggling financially? Why not use that money for cultivation of crops to ease the cost of food/ decrease imported goods?

This is the primary reason behind these ethnic issues. Anything beneficial to the minority will make the majority Sri Lankans sick . Such a race created out of hatred and jealousy.
