Government hopeful of receiving IMF 5th, 6th tranche by end May: President



Colombo, April 7 (Daily Mirror) - The government is hopeful of receiving the fifth and sixth tranches of USD 700 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by the end of May, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today.

He told Parliament that the government is planning to reach the staff level agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by this Thursday in Sri Lanka.

The President said if the staff level agreement is reached by Thursday, Sri Lanka will receive USD 700 million of both the fourth and fifth tranches.
